I saw it the other day,
that falling in your eyes.
Strange, how you seemed,
a contradiction of sorts.
Wanting it all for one moment,
but flinching off the other.
Mad, frantic desire for one moment,
calculated denial in the other.
You spoke words
which hung in the air
like inconsequential echoes.
For my darling words don’t matter,
when the hearts speak
from eyes
to eyes.
